Main responsibilities for the successful Head of Construction
The Head of Construction will come from a fit-out background and ideally have residential and commercial works experience:
- Manage the contract in every respect: build methodology, scope of works, programme, process, costs, progress, safe working systems, building performance, employer’s requirements, technical and contractual matters.
- Act as the primary contact for all client communications and provide strategic and professional guidance to sites management teams
- Client site visits on the weekly or monthly basis.
- Regularly review project financial performance to identify best practice and cost performance and propose actions to improve performance where possible across the wider business.
- Promote the pursuit of excellence, drive innovation, adapt best practice by delivering a world class operation underpinned by a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
About the successful Head of Construction:
- Minimum five years’ experience in construction: commercial interiors
- Minimum five years’ experience in leadership and management
- Knowledge of and passion interest in sustainable construction practices
- Understands industry practice of COMAH site practice requirements to drive zero harm in Health & Safety
- Experience in working with project controls for monitoring progress and cost control.
- MCIOB or working towards – SMSTS/CSCS Black Card
- Highly IT literate and proficient with excel
- Highly organised and self-motivated individual with desire to progress
- Excellent communication skills with internal stakeholders and external clients
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
- Demonstrate excellent drive, determination, and ambition to succeed
- Clean UK License
